Treadmill Sensor Error Code – Speed and Position Sensor Faults
Getting a sensor error code on your treadmill? This guide covers troubleshooting for both speed and incline sensors to help you find and fix the fault.
Understanding Treadmill Sensors
Treadmills rely on sensors for critical feedback. The speed sensor tells the console how fast the belt is moving, and the incline sensor reports the current elevation. A failure in either will cause an error.
Troubleshooting Speed Sensor Errors (E2, LS)
This is the most common sensor failure. Check the sensor's alignment with the front roller magnet, clean any dust away, and inspect its wiring. A faulty sensor requires replacement.
Troubleshooting Incline Sensor Errors (E4, IE)
This error occurs when the console doesn't get a valid position reading from the incline motor. Check the sensor's wiring and run a calibration. A faulty incline sensor (potentiometer) needs to be replaced.
The Importance of Secure Connections
Vibration can loosen sensor connections over time. Simply unplugging and securely reconnecting the sensor wires at both the sensor and the control board can often resolve intermittent sensor errors.
