Exercise Bike Error E2 – Speed Sensor and Resistance Problems

An E2 error on your exercise bike points to a speed sensor or resistance motor issue. Our guide helps you find the fault and get your bike working.

Decoding the E2 Error

An E2 error often means the console is not receiving a speed (RPM) signal from the sensor on the flywheel, or that the resistance motor is not responding.

Troubleshooting the Speed Sensor

Locate the speed sensor near the flywheel. Ensure it is clean, properly aligned with its magnet, and that the wiring is secure.

Testing the Resistance Motor

If the error appears when you try to change resistance, the fault may be with the servo motor that controls the magnets. Check its wiring and listen for any movement.

When the Control Board is the Culprit

If both the sensor and motor appear fine, the main control board may not be processing the signals correctly.
