Exercise Bike Fuse Blowing – Causes and Solutions

If your exercise bike keeps blowing its internal fuse, it's a sign of a serious problem. Learn if it's an overload or short circuit from a bad component.

Why Bikes Have Fuses

The fuse is a safety device designed to protect the electronics from damage in the event of an electrical fault.

Cause 1: Short Circuit

This is the most common reason. A failed component on the control board or a pinched wire can cause a short circuit, which instantly blows the fuse.

Cause 2: Incorrect Power Adapter

Using an AC adapter with the wrong voltage or polarity can overload the circuit and blow the fuse.

Why You Shouldn't Just Replace the Fuse

A blown fuse is a symptom, not the problem. Simply replacing it without finding the underlying fault will likely result in it blowing again. Never use a higher-rated fuse.
