Exercise Bike Console Not Powering On – Electrical and Board Causes
A dead exercise bike console can be caused by the power supply, a bad cable, or the console board itself. Learn to trace the source of the power failure.
Step 1: Verify the Power Source
For AC-powered bikes, test the adapter and outlet. For battery-powered bikes, install a fresh set of high-quality batteries.
Step 2: Check All External and Internal Wiring
Inspect the power adapter cable and the internal wires connecting the power jack/battery case to the console for damage or loose plugs.
Step 3: Diagnose a Failed Power Supply Circuit
The control board or console may have a power supply fault that a technician can diagnose.
Step 4: Confirm a Failed Console
If power is reaching the console but it still won't turn on, the console board itself has failed and must be replaced.
