Treadmill Not Getting Power – Plug, Socket and Supply Problems

If your treadmill is completely dead, start with the basics. Our guide helps you troubleshoot the plug, socket, power cord, and main supply issues.

Start Outside the Treadmill: The Wall Socket

Before touching the treadmill, confirm the wall outlet has power. Plug in a lamp or another device to test it. Check your home's main circuit breaker panel.

Inspect the Power Cord

Examine the entire length of the treadmill's power cord for any cuts, frays, or damage. Pay close attention to the plug and where the cord enters the machine.

The Treadmill's Own Circuit Breaker

Most treadmills have their own reset-able circuit breaker, usually a black button near the power switch. If it has popped out, press it in once to reset it.

Using a Dedicated Circuit

Treadmills draw a lot of power. They should be on a dedicated electrical circuit to prevent overload. Avoid using extension cords, which can cause voltage drops and damage the electronics.
