Treadmill LS Error – Safety Key and Limit Switch Faults

An "LS" or "Low Speed" error on your treadmill usually points to an issue with the speed sensor or safety key circuit. Our guide shows you how to fix it.

Understanding the "LS" (Low Speed) Error

The "LS" error typically appears when the console commands the motor to start, but it does not detect any belt movement via the speed sensor within a few seconds. It's a safety shutdown.

Is it an LS or an E2 Error?

On many treadmills, the LS error is functionally the same as an E2 error. The troubleshooting steps are nearly identical and focus on the speed sensing system.

Troubleshooting the Speed Sensor

Check that the speed sensor is properly aligned with the magnet on the front roller pulley. Clean the sensor and ensure the wiring is secure. A faulty sensor is the most common cause of an LS error.

Motor and MCB Checks

If the sensor is fine, the problem could be that the motor is not getting the command to start. This points to a potential failure in the Motor Control Board (MCB) or the motor itself.
